I honestly should just make a separate tab on Portfolio Building!
Just want to share some advice on starting out especially with how to set up your website & where to go.
I first started collecting images for my Port by using models & photographers from a site called ModelMayhem.com
It is an amazing platform to make connections when you are taking your first steps into business.
When setting up your website…whatever you do, do not just choose something that is simply free because usually it will end in their name following whatever you name your website.
For example, look at this blog. Notice how my site is : www.journeyofbecomingahairstylist.com & not www.journeyofbecomingahairstylist.wordpress.com
I think it is very tacky & shows that you didn’t make the investment to purchase a real website instead of a free template.
In order to create your website…you need a domain which you can purchase from GoDaddy.com
You can host your site with them & build your site on your own choosing one of their templates & purchasing their Website Builder.
However..I had my site www.cristinetozser.com
hosted with them for about 2 years & then I was referred to SquareSpace by my mentor. Their templates are a hundred times better than GoDaddy & so much easier to build. They look so professional & lovely 🙂
