I’ve been really lucky to be a part of an amazing bridal team. Doing makeup for weddings has been so much. It’s really refreshing going to different locations all the time opposed to working at a salon, same environment everyday. (It can get a little boring at least in my salon.) On top of that, I make a good amount of money, sometimes as much as my weekly salon paycheck or more in just a few hours. So I must say I am truly grateful. It’s been only one year since I got into the bridal business and it’s been so much fun.
Every single wedding I’ve done has been a blast and everything always went well. For some reason we have never had a bridezilla. It is always the mother of the bride or groom ir a bridesmaid that can be a little difficult. Anyways, the other day we were at the Chelsea Piers in NY. Our makeup setup was amazing!
The bride herself was a makeup artist, I wasn’t able to go to her trial so I ended up just doing all the bridesmaids. Everything was going well, the bridesmaids were just sweethearts! <3
Makeup Bit:
There was one girl who I thought I would have alot of trouble with due to her skin. She seemed extremely dehydrated. Her lips were almost cracking and her skin was so so dry! That made me a little nervous because I didn’t want the makeup to look cakey and I wasn’t using airbrush either. I ended up using MAC Lip Conditioner on her lips and let her rub that in for a while. Then to prep her skin, I drowned with Makeup Forever High Definition Primer and it worked!!!
Anyways…we were almost done and then the bride couldn’t find her veil! Poor thing she was going crazy and she was not going to get married without that veil whatsoever! It was pretty intense…..and 30 minutes later they found it. Thank God! lol The End…
