“If you want things in your life to change, you’re going to have to change things in your life.”
What is the Gratitude Challenge?
The Gratitude Challenge is very simple : Simply give thanks to whatever you are grateful for everyday. You can create a Gratitude Jar or a Gratitude Journal. I started a Gratitude Journal and I write down the date and make a list of all the things that I am appreciative of regardless of how small it is. It is better to practice this at night before you go to bed, that way you are going to bed with good thoughts. You can do this for 10 days, 2 weeks, a month…& even though the challenge is for a month only, I want to make this a permanent habit for the rest of my life.
Why Start?
According to studies, the more you express thanks, the happier you are. It has been shown to reduce the negative effects of stress, improve sleep, and cultivate positive emotions. The theory also is that the more you are thankful, the Universe or God will send you more things to be grateful for. Gratitude is the single fastest way to change your life.
Rhonda Byrne, the author of The Secret, has created a Gratitude journal for you to record whatever you are thankful for & it is filled with guidance and inspirational insights. You should totally check it out!
My Experience
I have been doing this challenge for the past week & I feel completely different about my life already. The world seems like it’s a better place..I feel more optimistic and much happier. I almost feel like a different person actually lol I am even thankful for things that don’t seem like they are good…for example breaking my right foot the other day. I think that things happen for a reason and I have to say there are a few upsides to that incident. I’m staying positive and I’ll rather laugh about it than cry.
Look at a tragedy with thankfulness and gratefulness.
I would love to hear your experience with the Gratitude Challenge.
