Waking up at 3 am to drive to your co-workers house to get there at 6 am then another 2 hours to the actual wedding location. Working for 6-7 hours straight painting face after face, being fed chick-fil-a chicken, fruit, and donuts for your 5 minute break. (Life in the bridal business) Sometimes you walk into the room where one of the bridesmaids got soooo drunk last night she is still drunk lol. And ontop of that she is singing like crazy and being all extra loud, and ontop of that you find out she is a real doctor who might have sent one of her trainees a wrong text. Lmao You can’t make this stuff up. You get to see the prettiest venues! Your job is done, hug the bride & peace you’re out! Then you go home with a nice pocket full of money. (A week’s paycheck at an upscale salon as an assistant and junior hair stylist! Yes it’s true!) Sometimes even more!
And for right now I’m just working weekends..fri – sun doing bridal stuff. Totally enjoying having my weekdays all to myself. It is soooooo relaxing. I’ll keep doing this until the summer is over and then pick up more work and apply to Glam Squad. I’ve been working in a salon for 4 years every single weekend. First 3 years I was still in school, so 7 days I was totally occupied. It feels good to breath and be making the same amount of $ and enjoy being young. Because life is precious and I think It’s important that we enjoy our time here. Let’s not forget about happiness. Sure I could be working more during the week and be making 2 weeks pay in one week but I’m fine where I am right now.
